Dry Fire Hydrant Cost Share Program

This program is a cost share program offered to local fire departments, to assist them with the installation of Dry Fire Hydrants, providing an adequate water supply in areas where fire protection is not available.  A dry fire hydrant is a non pressurized pipe permanently installed in lakes or ponds that provides a supply of water, by means of suction to a tanker truck.  For more information on this program please call the Brown SWCD at 937-378-4424.

The following link will provide you with a bulletin entitled Fire Protection in Rural Areas: Dry Hydrants for Ponds    http://ohioline.osu.edu/aex-fact/0422.html
