A
WATERSHED is an area of land that
water drains to a common water body such as a stream,
river or lake.
On its way, water travels across farm fields, forest land, suburban
lawns and city streets possibly picking up contaminants and distributing
them in that water body.
Watersheds can be of all sizes - ranging from your backyard, to all
the land draining to the Ohio River. Every watershed is important,
and since we ALL live in a watershed, our actions
can help protect and maintain the quality of water from our backyard to
the Ohio!
"The Mission of the White Oak Creek
Watershed Partners is to bring together local
communities to enhance
water quality and encourage natural resource protection."
